DIY Kale Chips

I don't know about you, but I indulged in some unhealthy foods over the weekend. Why? BECAUSE THEY'RE SINFULLY DELICIOUS AND I'M AN IMPERFECT HUMAN. Everything in moderation though, right? It's all about balance, so I don't get guilty...I just get better.
We all know that greens are good for you, but plain, dry greens don't excite me. You can juice kale, you can put it in your smoothie, you can make a salad with it...or you can make chips! I've read opposing views about what is better for you; raw or cooked kale. I'm not a scientist, a doctor, or a health expert...so I just eat healthy when possible. It makes sense to me that having fruits and vegetables in your diet are better than no fruits and vegetables, no matter how you slice it.
When I first started making kale chips, one of my friends came over for dinner. She watched as I carefully laid out the kale pieces, struggling to cover each of them with olive oil using a brush. She said the finished product tasted better than hers because of the "time and love I put into each chip." I didn't understand what she meant until I watched her make kale chips a couple months later: she put all the pieces in a storage container, drizzled it with olive oil, put on the lid and shook it up until they were evenly coated...BRILLIANT! She is so sweet for complimenting my tedious and time-consuming method, but I will never go back!

You will need:
        Kale(Curly works too!)
        Olive Oil
Sea salt(I use pink Himalayan salt)
        Ground pepper
        Baking sheet
        Container with a top

1. Wash & dry kale
2. Remove stems & break kale up into chip-sized pieces
3. Place them in a container with a lid
4. Drizzle with olive oil(Or coconut oil, but don't go overboard.)
5. Put lid on and shake until all pieces are coated("massage" if needed)
6. Spread kale out in one layer on baking sheet
7. Top with salt and pepper(or experiment with other spices)
8. Bake at 300-350 degrees. Keep an eye on them and rotate the baking sheet once. You can bake them more quickly at 350-375, but if you don't check on them every couple minutes you will burn them. I bake them for longer at 300 to avoid over-cooking them!
10. Sprinkle again with salt and pepper to taste
9. Enjoy!
The tasty results!
